Round steak makes an elegant main course when marinated, grilled and served with sauteed onions.
 

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup vinegar
  • 1/3 cup oil
  • 3 tbsp packed brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp coarsely ground black pepper
  • 1 1/2 lbs top round steak

Method

Mix all ingredients and pour over steak. Refrigerate overnight. Remove steak and onions, reserving marinade. Grill 12-15 minutes on each side for a 1 1/2 inch steak, brushing with marinade occasionally. Pan fry onions and serve on the side with steak.
