|2 Tbsp||Olive Oil|
|2 lb||Stew Meat or London Broil Cut Into 1 1/2-2" Pieces|
|1||Large Onion, chopped|
|2 Tbsp||Worcestershire Sauce|
|1 Tbsp||Dark Brown Sugar|
|1 Tbsp||Hungarian Sweet Paprika or Regular Paprika|
|½ tsp||Dry Mustard|
|1× 14 oz can||Beef Broth|
Heat large pan over medium high heat, add olive oil and sear meat on all sides then remove. Place beef in a slow cooker and cover with onion. In a small bowl, mix together ketchup, Worcestershire, brown sugar, paprika, dry mustard and beef broth. Pour mixture over meat and cook on low heat for 10 hours. Mix flour and water together then pour over meat. Stir in, then increase heat to high during the last half hour. Serve over egg noodles or spaetzle.
My in-laws are German and my mother-in-law is an awesome cook. I served this when they were visiting and they raved over it. I was so flattered when she asked for my recipe. She even bought a slow cooker for this dish, and now she often cooks it at home.
