A ground beef mixture (made with bread crumbs, onion, & a molasses BBQ sauce) have a "thumb print" in each one that's filled with more of the sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb hamburger (ground beef) or ground raw turkey
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 1 medium yellow onion, cut in small diced
  • 1 cup favorite tangy BBQ sauce
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp molasses

Method

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Put hamburger, bread crumbs, egg, and onion in a large bowl and mix together. In a separate bowl mix BBQ sauce, ketchup, and molasses; reserve 1/2 cup of mixture for later. Pour remaining sauce onto meat and mix well. Take meat mixture and shape into 4 or 5 individual loaves, about the size of a small baking potato. Place in a 9x13" baking pan. Make a long, deep indentation with your thumb in the top of each meatloaf, and spoon reserved sauce into each thumb print. Put it in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes or until done.

Notes: Kids love to have their own individual meatloaves. Serve with your favorite sides.

Number of Servings: 4-5
