Burger Logs

These burgers are a new way to do an old favorite. Your kids will love the new visual and creativity of this meal.
Ingredients
- 1 lb lean ground round
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1/4 cup red wine
- 4 tbsp sweet onions, fine dice
- 8 oz pkg shiitake mushrooms
- Butter or margarine
- 4 slices mild cheddar
- 4 hoagie buns

Method
Mix together well with hands; the meat, flour, cornstarch and onions. When well blended, add wine and mix again until wine is absorbed. Shape meat by hand into 4 equal sized "logs". Cook these on a grill or in the oven to desired temperature. Meanwhile saute mushrooms in butter. Using a serrated bread knife, cut tops off hoagie buns and scoop out bread, leaving at least 1/4 inch of bread to create canoe type rolls. When burger logs are done, place them in the hoagie buns, top with mushrooms and a slice of cheese. Place under a broiler to melt cheese.
