
This beef and vegetable soup combines ground beef, cabbage, celery, and onion in a broth of tomato soup, bouillon, brown sugar, and ketchup.
In a large soup kettle, brown the beef. Remove meat, reserving some drippings in kettle. Cook celery, onion and cabbage in drippings until tender. Drain off fat. Return meat to kettle. Add water, bouillon, salt, pepper, beef and tomato sauce. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Stir in brown sugar and ketchup; simmer another 10 minutes.
