Danish Casserole

This easy dinner recipe uses turkey, beef or pork meatballs and egg noodles along with red cabbage to make a flavorful casserole.
Ingredients
- Meatballs:
- 1 1/2 lbs. ground turkey, beef or pork
- 1 minced medium onion
- 2 tsp oil
- 1 tsp. anchovy paste
- 2 slices of bread, ripped
- 1/4 cup milk 1/4 tsp allspice
- 1/4 tsp dried dill
- salt, pepper to taste
- Gravy:
- 1 can beef broth
- 2-3 Tbs cornstartch or flour
- Other:
- 2 jars - sweet and sour red cabbage, undrained.
- 1 1/2 lb cooked egg noodles
- 1 tsp caraway seed
- 1/2 tsp dry dill
- 3 Tbs butter

Method
Mix meatball ingredients. Shape into 1 1/2" balls. Cook in large pan until done. Remove meatballs and add onion, sauteing until done about 5 minutes. Add cornstarch or flour. Cook for 1 minute. Add broth. Bring to boil, simmer 2 minutes. Add back meatballs. Cover and cook 15 minutes. Cook noodles as directed, add caraway, butter and dill and set aside. Place meatballs in large 5-6 qt Dutch oven. Cover meatballs with jarred sweet sour red cabbage. Cover with noodles. Pour gravy over top. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes covered. Bake uncovered 10 minutes.
