Diana's Steak-Oki with Honey Bourbon Sauce

This Oklahoma version of filet Mignon is sure to grab your taste buds and take them for a ride no matter where you are from.

Ingredients:

  • Steak-Oki:
  • 2 lbs ground chuck
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper
  • 1/2 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tbsp minced garlic
  • Honey Bourbon Sauce:
  • 2 cup honey
  • 1 6 ounce can tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup jerk seasoning (optional)
  • 2 ounces bourbon
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 tsp Tabasco

Method

Steak-Oki: Combine all ingredients together in a large bowl and mix together thoroughly. Roll into a ball to form steak patties. Usually about 1/2lb per patty, but this can be adjusted to fit the appetite. Broil to desired temperature and top with the Honey Bourbon Sauce, serve with loaded baked potato and salad or your favorite side dish. Honey Bourbon Sauce: Combine all ingredients together in a medium bowl. Let stand at room temperature for 1 hour before using, or store in an air tight container in the refrigerator. Stir before using.

Notes: This is my Oklahoma Version of filet Mignon. We like to keep it simple yet still provide all the big city, larger than life taste and flair. You're sure to love this classic yet simple combination of zesty flavors and mouth watering aromas. Bon Ape-Oki Broil on rack of broiler pan so surface of beef patty is 3-4" from heat for 1" steaks, 2-3" from heat for 2" steaks turning occasionally. Total cooking time should be 10 to 13 minutes.

Number of servings: 4-6
