Dutch Meatloaf


This meatloaf combines ground beef, Velveeta cheese, onion, breadcrumbs, egg, and tomato sauce. An indentation is made in the top of the meatloaf and a mixture of tomato sauce, mustard seed, brown sugar and milk is poured into it.



Ingredients:

  • 1 1/4 pound hamburger  
  • 1/2 cup Velveeta, cubed  
  • 1 small onion, chopped  
  • 1 1/4 cups soft breadcrumbs  
  • 1 egg, beaten  
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • Topping:  
  • 1/4 cup tomato sauce  
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seed  
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk

Method

Mix first 6 ingredients and form into a loaf. Place into a loaf pan or baking pan. Make an indentation on top for topping: Mix together 1/4 cup tomato sauce, 1 teaspoon mustard seed, 3 tablespoons brown sugar and 1/4 cup milk; pour into indentation on top of meatloaf. Bake at 350 degrees for 60 to 70 minutes till done.
