Easy Shepard's Pie

This shepard's pie is easy and will be filling on a cold evening.
 

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 lbs ground beef
  • 3 oz freshly sliced mushrooms
  • 1 tsp salt
  • Freshly ground pepper to taste
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 tsp paprika
  • 1 8 oz can crescent dinner rolls
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 3 1/2 tsp mayonnaise
  • 1 can diced new potatoes

Method

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a large frying pan, brown beef and mushrooms in Worcestershire sauce. Drain off fat and add salt and more Worcestershire sauce to taste. Separate and press biscuits into 8 x 8 baking dish. Combine the egg and 1/4 cup of each cheese. Spread egg mixture over biscuits. Spoon hot beef and mushrooms onto biscuits. Mix potatoes and mayonnaise with 1/2 cup of each cheese and spread on top of beef. Spread remaining cheese on top of mixture. Sprinkle with paprika and freshly ground pepper to taste. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until cheese is golden brown.
