Easy Tangy Meatloaf

A tasty version of an old family favorite--meatloaf gets a flavor boost from Italian bread crumbs plus steak and worchestershire sauce.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 pounds beef/pork meatloaf mix
  • 1/2 cup dried Italian seasoned bread crumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 Tablespoon A-1 steak sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon  worchestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 cup A-1 steak sauce or favorite BBQ sauce for glaze

Method

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Beat egg and milk in large bowl. Add bread crumbs to egg mixture and mix lightly. Allow breadcrumb mixture to sit for 2-3 minutes to absorb liquid. Then add meat, and all remaining ingredients (except A-1 sauce or BBQ sauce for glaze) to breadcrumb mixture and mix well with hands. Transfer meat mixture to a loaf pan and pat into pan. Bake uncovered for 1 hour. Drain fat from loaf pan. Then pour A-1 sauce or BBQ sauce over meatloaf to glaze, spreading sauce with a spoon to cover entire meatloaf. Bake for another 30 minutes. Slice and serve.

Notes: The A1 steak sauce in the meat mixture really boosts the flavor of the meatloaf, as well as the seasoned breadcrumbs and worchestershire sauce.

Number of servings: 4-6
