Fired-Up Habanero Burgers

Ground beef and pork are combined with pico de gallo, tortilla chips, and chipotle hot sauce, then formed into patties and stuffed with cheese for these "hot" burgers.
 

Ingredients

  • 1 lb hamburger
  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 1 tsp each of salt and pepper, or to taste
  • 3 tsp (1 Tbsp.) chipotle bottled hot sauce
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 cup pico de gallo
  • 3/4 cup crushed habanero tortilla chips
  • 8 oz shredded Monterey Jack cheese

Method

Mix both hamburger and ground pork together thoroughly. Add remaining ingredients, except cheese, and mix together. Form into 16 thin patties. Take 1 patty and sprinkle with some shredded cheese; place a second patty on top and seal edges. Repeat with remaining meat to form 8 burgers. Cook in a pan, in oven, or on a grill.
