This layered lasagna-like dish uses no-boil pasta, topped with a seasoned ground beef mixture and with a blend of cream cheese, cottage cheese and Parmesan.

Ingredients

  • 6-8 no-boil lasagna noodles
  • 1 1/2 lb lean hamburger
  • 2 8-oz cans tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 3/4 tsp salt, or to taste
  • 1/4 tsp pepper, or to taste
  • 8-oz pkg cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated or shredded

Method

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9-inch baking dish or pan with cooking spray. Brown hamburger in a large skillet until no longer pink, then drain. Add tomato sauce, sugar, onion powder, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper, then heat through. Meanwhile mix cream cheese, cottage cheese and sour cream together in a small bowl. Spread a small amount of sauce from the meat mixture in pan. Line pan with 2-3 lasagna noodles, breaking if needed. Cover noodles with 1/2 of the meat mixture. Spread cheese mixture evenly over meat mixture and cover cheese layer with 2-3 more noodles. Top with remaining meat mixture and sprinkle Parmesan over top. Bake 25-30 minutes, uncovered, or until hot and bubbly.

Notes: I think this is best when made early in the day, or the day before, and reheated just before serving.

Number of Servings: 6-8
