Homestyle Beef Pot Pie


Just brown the beef, mix with vegetables and seasoning, and top with a frozen pie crush for a hearty, home cooked meal your family will love.



Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground chuck
  • 1 package stew vegetables (potato, carrot and celery blend)
  • 1/2 package frozen mixed vegetables (corn, green beans and peas)
  • 1 can beef broth
  • 2 tbsp steak sauce
  • 2 tbsp red wine
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 frozen pie crust, thawed

Method

Combine frozen vegetables in a large glass mixing bowl. Add 1 cup beef broth and microwave 5-6 minutes or until tender crisp. Meanwhile, brown ground chuck. Stir in steak sauce and wine until blended. Add ground chuck to vegetables, reserving meat drippings in skillet. Add flour to drippings to make a roux. Stir in water until smooth. Add roux to vegetables and meat and stir well. Pour into round 4 quart casserole and top with pie crust. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes or until golden and bubbly.

Notes: Kids love this rich, meaty pie. Vegetables and all.
