Italian Cube Steak Bake

Cube steaks are tender and delicious when you bake with onion, green pepper, pasta sauce and a topping of mozzarella cheese.
 

Ingredients

  • 2-3 pounds cube steaks
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1/2-1 green pepper
  • 4-5 red potatoes
  • 1 jar spaghetti sauce with Italian sausage
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 cup water
  • 4 oz mozzarella cheese

Method

Place steak in a single layer in a roasting pan. Season with garlic salt and Italian seasoning. Chop onion and lay on top of steak. Chop green pepper and sprinkle across steak. Peel and slice potatoes thinly then lay on top of steak. Open sauce and cover steak. Add water over top of sauce. Cover with a lid or foil and bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/2-2 hours. Remove from oven, sprinkle with mozzarella cheese, then replace lid. Wait 3-4 minutes until cheese has melted before serving.
