Meaty Rice Dressing


Ground beef, onion, and bell pepper in a creamy mushroom sauce with rice.



Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs ground beef, preferably chuck
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 1 chopped bell pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped celery
  • 1 teaspoon chopped jalapenos (optional)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 14.5 oz can cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons Worchestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons Louisiana hot sauce
  • 2 teaspoons Kitchen Bouquet
  • 3 cups rice, cooked

Method

Brown ground beef and drain excess oil. Season with salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, and add Kitchen Bouquet for color. Add vegetables and cook until tender, approximately 5 minutes. Add water and cream of mushroom soup. Simmer for 20 minutes. Add rice to mixture and stir to thoroughly coat.

Notes: Add more or less seasoning depending on your tastes. Sprinkling rice with Tony Chacheres seasoning blend adding to mixture will really add a cajun flair.
