Mediterranean Grilled Steak Sandwiches

Sirloin steaks are marinated in a mixture of garlic, olives and capers, then grilled, sliced thin and served on warm crusty bread.
Ingredients
- 2 cups black olives
- 3 tablespoons capers
- 1 clove garlic
- 1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/3 cup prepared mayonnaise
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 lb top sirloin steak
- Sliced tomato
- Sliced provolone cheese
- Lettuce leaves
- 6 Ciabatta or French rolls, split

Method
Combine first 3 ingredients in a food processor and process until coarsely chopped. With processor running, drizzle in olive oil. Divide olive mixture equally between two bowls. In one bowl, stir in mayonnaise. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Rub steak with remaining olive mixture (without mayonnaise). Refrigerate at least 30 minutes to overnight. Prepare grill, and grill steak over moderate heat, about 15 minutes for medium rare. Allow steak to rest 5 minutes before thinly slicing across grain. Toast rolls, spread with olive mayonnaise, a layer of sliced steak, cheese, tomato and lettuce.
