Pepper Steak

Hearty beef steaks and green peppers simmered in a rich beef broth.
 

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. round steak cut in thin strips
  • flour
  • salt
  • pepper
  • garlic powder
  • 2 tbls soy sauce
  • 1 beef bouillon cube and 1-1/2 cups water or 1 can beef broth
  • chopped onion
  • 1/2 gr. pepper cut into thin strips
  • 1 or 2 tbls. cornstarch mixed with 3 tbl. water

Method

Coat sliced beef with flour. Fry in small amount of oil, add onions. When brown, add salt, pepper, garlic powder, soy sauce, beef bouillon and water, and green pepper. Bring to a boil, simmer for 2 hours covered. Mix constarch and water, thicken sauce. Serve over rice .
