Sauced Meatballs

Oatmeal and evaporated milk keep these simple meatballs moist and tender.
 

Ingredients

  • Meatballs:
  • 3 lbs hamburger
  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • 2 cups quick oatmeal
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1/2-3/4 tsp garlic powder
  • Sauce:
  • 3 cups ketchup
  • 3/4 tsp onion salt
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
 
Method

Mix meatball ingredients together, form into balls, and place a single layer in a 13 X 9 pan. Mix sauce ingredients and pour over meatballs. Bake at 350 degrees for one hour.

 

Notes: You can make the meatballs smaller and serve as an appetizer or make them larger and use as a main course. They stand well alone or used in a sandwich.
