Spaghetti Pie

A fun way to serve dinner with a crust made of spaghetti and filled with ground beef and cheese; seasoned with Italian seasonings.
Ingredients
- 6 oz. spaghetti
- 2 T margarine
- 2 beaten eggs
- 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup cottage cheese
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1/4 cup green pepper
- 1 8 oz can tomatoes, cut up
- 1 6 oz can tomato paste
- 1 t. sugar
- 1 t. oregano
- 1/2 t. garlic salt
- 1/2 cup shredded Mozzarella cheese

Method
Cook spaghetti according to package directions and drain (should be 3 cups). Stir margarine into hot spaghetti. Stir in beaten eggs and Parmesan cheese. Form spaghetti mixture into crust in greased 10" pie plate. Spread with cottage cheese. In skillet cook ground meat, onion and pepper till meat brown and vegetables tender. Drain off fat. Stir in un-drained tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, oregano and garlic salt. Heat through. Turn meat mixture into spaghetti crust. Bake uncovered at 350 for 20 minutes. Sprinkle with Mozzarella cheese. Bake till melted, about 5 minutes.
Notes: Easily vegetarian - use veggie crumbles in place of hamburger
