A beef roast, cooked in the crock pot with onion and BBQ sauce, is combined with dried cranberries and spooned on toasted bread rounds for an appetizer.

Season chuck roast. Place meat and onion in crock-pot and cover with water. Set crock-pot on low and cook meat for 8-10 hours. Remove meat and drain off all water. Place meat back in crock-pot and pour entire bottle of sauce over meat. Cover and cook on low 8-10 hours. Lift meat from sauce; shred roast and mix meat with cranberries. Slice bread thinly and toast lightly. To serve as appetizer, place meat in a circle on a large platter; fill center with a nut and dried fruit mixture. Place a large spoonful of meat mixture on toasted bread rounds. Top with fruit and nut mixture.
