This roast is simple to prepare and will leave everyone at the table feeling satisfied.

  • Servings: 8-10

5 lb Pot Roast
½ cup Flour
⅛ tsp Salt
⅛ tsp Pepper
¼ cup Oil
1 Bay Leaf
Potatoes, peeled and cut
Carrots, peeled and cut
Onions, peeled and cut
Celery, peeled and cut

Combine flour, salt and pepper in a dish. Cover roast with flour mixture on all sides. Heat oil in large pot, sear roast on all sides to brown. Put metal trivet under roast. Cover roast with water and bring to boil. Once boiling, turn down heat to a slow boil. Boil meat about one hour per pound of beef until beef gets soft and stringy. Replace water as needed to make sure beef is covered. About 30 minutes before the end, add vegetables and cook until soft. Remove meat and vegetables to serve.
