Yam-Burger Pie

This casserole is a cheesy, potato and beef dish with the infusion of yams.

Ingredients:

• 4 15.5 oz cans yams (save all the orange-pineapple syrup)
• 2 lbs of ground beef
• 2 cups grated sharp cheddar
• 1 1/2 cups instant mashed potato
• 2 teaspoons salt

Method

Brown ground beef and drain grease. Add the last three ingredients plus 1 cup of the syrup to the ground beef. Mix well and put in a 13x9 inch greased glass casserole. Slice the yams into small pieces and beat together with the rest of the syrup until smooth. Spread over the top of the casserole, and cover with plastic wrap. Heat in microwave oven until hot throughout; about 10-15 minutes.
